So, I know in the past (presumably when we had the old talk pages in the 00s decade), it was brought up that Bip was never actually named on-screen, and the only mention of his "name" came from the 1979 record "Every Body's Record" (which I don't even recall if there was even much discussion about it or not), but anyway.... this was something that was kind of pandering my mind for awhile - I feel like the article could use a bit of re-wording as the way it's worded describes that the record indicated that it knew this song was performed by the Sesame Street counterpart of Mahna Mahna (who really only appeared in season 5 and may as well have been long forgotten by that point before the Workshop decided "Hey, let's make Mahna Mahna into a Sesame Street character again and really expand on him more with new songs!" six years later in 1985), when in reality I feel like it was very clear they just decided to reform "Mahna Mahna" onto Sesame Street at the last minute when re-recording the song (since the album version was a different recording like most album releases in season 16). The truth is, since that song was originally made for albums only, it could have easily just been a generic Anything Muppet beatnik-type character with Jim's Dr. Teeth voice, and likewise the back-up female vocals could have easily just been a group of female Anything Muppets instead of pigs that would transition into the Oinker Sisters one season later. Plus, if we're being honest, Sesame Workshop clearly forgot the name of the character to begin with - many of their old releases of his songs on their YouTube channel and SS.org site either listed him as "Mahna Mahna" or "a man." The fact that all Bip even said was "Mahna Mahna" in his 2009 cameo shows he was meant to be nothing more than a nameless "Mahna Mahna" look alike counterpart on the show.I did some experimenting on the page but felt I should bring this up on the forum before making the changes as I definitely feel there should be some thoughts from other folks on here as well. Here's a preview image to show an idea of how I feel like the article could be fixed up a bit, but again, I am curious to hear some thoughts. (Everything else below these first two screenshots are the same).
