The "Poseidon: The Musical" Singers, a pair of Whatnots, appeared in episode 24 of From the Balcony. The characters sang a song from an upcoming new musical version of The Poseidon Adventure.
Although From the Balcony used the singing sailors to poke fun at the 2006 film Poseidon, a Los Angeles theater group had in fact mounted a campy production of Poseidon Adventure: The Musical in 2003.
