The "1812 Overture," a symphonic piece composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to commemorate Russia's victory over the Napoleonic army, is most famous for the sequence of cannon fire integrated into the music. It has been featured in several Muppet productions.
- performed by Gonzo on the violin in episode 102. Gonzo's claim that he will grow his tomato plant to the tune of the "1812 Overture" proves to be true. The plant grows so large, in fact, that it picks up Gonzo, Hilda, and Scooter.
- The tune briefly scores an image of an ice cream cone with wheels in "Elmo's World: Bicycles."
