"50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" is a song written and recorded by Paul Simon, and included on Simon's album Still Crazy After All These Years. Released in December 1975, the song—about a promiscuous woman's humorous advice to a man wanting to leave his wife—became a major pop hit, spending three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1976.
On The Muppet Show, "50 Ways ... " was sung by Floyd and Janice in episode 511. They were backed by Animal on drums and Rizzo the Rat on cymbals.

- Variations of the song's title were a running gag throughout the Paul Simon episode. During the cold open, Paul Simon says that he knows "Fifty Ways to Love Your Lever," Rowlf asks Floyd and Janice during the song if it's actually "50 Ways to Love Your Lever," and in the Veterinarian's Hospital sketch, Dr. Bob says that he plans to operate on Gonzo while mentioning a Paul Simon song..."50 Ways to Leave Your Liver."
- In Miss Piggy's Rules, Miss Piggy references the song with her own list of fifty ways to leave the former man of your dreams.
- In Episode 0884 of Sesame Street, Oscar references the song as he exits the back door of his trash can, mentioning that he'll "slip out the back, Jack." He does so again in Episode 1443.
