	SCENE 1	Bob, Gordon, and the kids sit on the stoop of 123 Sesame Street clapping and singing along with Pete Seeger as he plays his banjo and sings "Skip to My Lou." Gordon greets the viewer and introduces Pete, who explains how families used to make music before television, movies, and other modern conveniences. After demonstrating how the banjo works, Pete sings "John Henry" as a demonstration of a way that people spread news to each other.
	Cartoon	A man displays the capital and lowercase A, and explains what an alligator is. (First: Episode 0006)
	Muppets	Ernie & Bert — Ernie complains when a big letter A appears on the TV screen, so Bert turns off the set, unplugs it, and Ernie takes a bunch of A objects out of the TV, including an acorn, apricots, an apron, an ape, and finally a letter A. When Bert plugs it back in, a big letter B appears on the screen. (First: Episode 0007)

	SCENE 2	Gordon, Bob, and the kids join Pete as he sings "Put Your Finger in the Air" and "Where's Your Point Finger." Pete explains that people sometimes sang songs to make their jobs go easier. He demonstrates by picking up a sledgehammer and using it to pound a log as he sings the spiritual "Take This Hammer."

	Cast	Buddy and Jim: Jim finds Buddy with his money (4 assorted coins) taped to his forehead for safekeeping. Jim has a better idea, and presents Buddy with a piggy bank. After transferring the coins, Jim also gives Buddy a key to open the bank. But where should Buddy keep the key? Tape that to his forehead? Nope, he merrily drops the key inside the piggy bank, since that's as safe a place as any! (First: Episode 0031)
	SCENE 4	Pete sings and tells the story of "Abiyoyo," the tale of a ukulele-playing boy and his magician father who find a way to rid the town of a terrible giant.

	SCENE 5	Susan and Mr. Hooper have joined the group as Pete sings "I Had a Rooster," providing illustrations for the kids to sing along with. Everybody heads to Gordon and Susan's apartment for some refreshments as Gordon introduces another singer.

	SCENE 7	Pete talks about the different languages people speak; he knows how to count to ten in German, and sings them briefly in the style of the "Numerosity" song. Pete sings "Guantanamera" with everyone joining in the chorus. Gordon does a bilingual sign off in English and Spanish, and Mr. Hooper announces the sponsors.
	CLOSING SIGNS	Mr. Hooper holds the Sesame Street sign and a group of Muppet hippies holds the Children's Television Workshop sign.
