AT&T commercial Big Bird

AT&T is a telecommunications conglomerate, the largest provider of mobile phone and fixed telephone services. One of their most famous slogans used during the 1980s urged customers to, "Reach out and touch someone."

Appearances[]

  • In 2016, a commercial advertising their wireless phone data plan features a man walking through a town, switching through television shows on his phone, as representations of the shows appear in the real world beside him. At one point, he exits a bus and Big Bird can be seen sitting with a woman and two kids. They watch Elmo on her tablet (a clip from the Season 40 theme sequence) as a brief passage of "The People in Your Neighborhood" plays in the background. During the short scene, text that reads "Sesame Street on HBO," appears.
  • In 2020, AT&T TV launched a commercial campaign with several "Famous Mouths" promoting the new streaming service. The commercials feature, among other celebrity mouths, Cookie Monster's mouth in at least two different ads. A 15-second ad features both Cookie Monster and Martha Stewart. A 30-second ad includes Evan Rachel Wood, RuPaul, Elijah Wood, Missy Elliott, LeBron James, Rick Sanchez, and Tracy Morgan who says "Take me to the streets! Play Sesame Street." (leading into Cookie Monster).
