A Surprise in the Mailbox is a Bear in the Big Blue House storybook based on the episode "The Big Little Visitor."
Tutter receives a letter in the mail from his Grandma Flutter, who's coming for a visit to the Big Blue House. Tutter knows his Grandma likes things to be clean, so he, Bear and the other kids all work hard to get things tidy. Tutter learns, though, that his Grandma loves him no matter what.
This book is fully illustrated, as opposed to some Bear in the Big Blue House books, which use photos within the illustrations.
A Surprise in the Mailbox is included in the compilation book Bear's Storytime Favorites.
Book and CD[]
In 2001, Australian publisher Hinkler Books and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's "ABC For Kids" label released a compilation CD storybook of A Surprise in the Mailbox and Two Can Share, Too, featuring narration by Tyler Coppin.
