Aagehaugland

Aage Haugland (1944-2000) was a prominent Danish opera singer who dubbed K. Edgar Singer in Muppets Fra Rummet, the Danish dub of Muppets from Space.

Haugland was hired by the Royal Danish Opera in 1973, although most of his career was spent on international stages or recordings. He appeared with various opera companies including Metropolitan in New York, Covent Garden in London, Bayreuth, Salzburg, Paris, and Munich. With the Met, he performed Baron Ochs in Rosenklavier and Klingsor in Parsifal (with Placido Domingo), among others. Haugland was particularly associated with the works of Modest Mussorgsky, playing Varlaam and others in different productions of Boris Godunov (including with Samuel Ramey in the title role in 1994), Ivan Khovansky in Khovanshchina, and recording his complete songs for CD in 1995.

Only occasionally working as an actor or in dubbing outside opera, Haugland's bass voice was heard in the Danish dubs of the Disney movies The Lion King (Mufasa), Hercules (Zeus), and Alice in Wonderland (Walrus).
