Abby Cadabby debuted as a walk-around character at SeaWorld Orlando on April 2, 2007 in the show Elmo and the Bookaneers, and on May 5, 2007 at the Sesame Place theme park. The Abby Cadabby costume is 20 pounds, and a cable cord (similar to a bicycle brake) is used to move the mouth.[1]

Abby Cadabby's first appearance in a Sesame Street Live show was in the show When Elmo Grows Up in 2007. Abby also appears at Busch Gardens Europe, Busch Gardens Africa, Universal Studios Japan (since 2008), Parque Plaza Sésamo, and Universal Studios Singapore.

Abby appeared at the 2007 The White House Easter Egg Roll, on Easter Sunday, an event hosted by Laura Bush. On May 2, Abby got another test run, appearing for kindergarteners at Glenville School in Greenwich, Pennsylvania, to present the Good Neighbor Award.[2]
