"Abiyoyo" is a folksong and story, using a traditional melody but with narrative and lyrics by Pete Seeger (performed in his club act and first recorded in 1955 on the album Bantu Choral Folk Songs). Telling the story of a boy and his father's conflicts with an evil giant Abiyoyo, Seeger performed it on Sesame Street in Episode 0048 and Episode 0389.
The story was published as a children's book in 1985, with Seeger later singing and narrating the book in an episode of Reading Rainbow.
