Sesame Street, Inc. (ASCAP)
"Air" is a Sesame Street song performed by Guy Smiley promoting the use of air. He leads his marching band through the walls of a barbershop, every time the barber says a word out loud that rhymes with "air" to a hard-of-hearing customer.
The segment parodies the Dodge advertisements in the late 1980s, in which a high-spirited spokesman in a white tuxedo bursts onto various genre scenes when the word "deal" is said.
- Performers include Jim Henson (Guy Smiley), Richard Hunt (barber), Jerry Nelson (customer), Camille Bonora, Jim Martin, Rick Lyon, Pam Arciero, Kevin Clash, Martin P. Robinson, and David Rudman. Ivy Austin provides backing vocals.
- This segment was taped on October 26, 1989, and was directed by Jon Stone.
