Alan Jay Lerner (1918–1986) was an American lyricist and librettist of Broadway musicals. His best known collaborations were with composer Frederick Loewe. Together, they wrote Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, My Fair Lady, Camelot, and the film Gigi.
