Alexander Geringas as Alex on Sesamstrasse

Alexander Geringas (b. 1971), credited post-2009 as Alex Geringas, is a Russian-born musician, composer, and actor who has worked primarily in Germany. He was a cast member on Sesamstrasse, the German co-production of Sesame Street, as musician Alex from 1997 until 2000. After relocating to Los Angeles and focusing mainly on composing, Geringas co-wrote Miss Piggy's "I'm Sorry" song for the 2015 The Muppets episode "Walk the Swine." Geringas also composed additional music for the 2018 Henson Alternative film The Happytime Murders.

As an actor, Geringas appeared in the 2002 Costa-Gavras film Amen. and episodes of the German TV series Die Pfefferkörner, Die Kommissarin, and Die Rettungsflieger. As a composer, he scored the German Hanni & Nanni movies and, after relocating to Los Angeles, several TV movies for the Hallmark Channel. Animation scores and themes include All Hail King Julien, Ice Age: Collision Course (the end title song), the Netflix series Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh. He co-wrote the Kelly Clarkson song "Dark Side."
