Alexander Welbat (1927-1977) was a German voice actor who dubbed Cookie Monster (Krümelmonster) on Sesamstrasse, the German co-production of Sesame Street, from 1973 to 1977.

Welbat was replaced by actor Edgar Ott, and then following Ott's own death in 1994, Welbat's son Douglas Welbat took over the character.

The elder Welbat's other credits include dubbing Peter Ustinov in Topkapi, Mel Brooks in The 12 Chairs, James Earl Jones in Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Nigel Bruce in The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Telly Savalas in multiple films. He was heard on records as Obelix in the Asterix series, in Dickens adaptations (Dr. Manette in A Tale of Two Cities and Mr. Dick in David Copperfield), and as Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. On-camera, he appeared in an episode of Percy Stuart (with Claus Wilcke) and as a regular co-star on the crime series Gesucht wird... (1976-1978)
