Alfred is the name bestowed to a robotic dog that first appears in Episode 5201 of Sesame Street.
After seeing Elmo's interactions with his puppy Tango, Norbert the Robot muses about having his own dog. Tamir fetches a robot dog kit from home and puts it together with Elmo and Alan, with the intention of giving the pet to Norbert. They then spend the rest of the episode figuring out how to give the robot dog a waggedy tail like Tango does, eventually replacing the given tail part with a foil-covered paintbrush. Norbert is very pleased to have his own dog and gives it the name Alfred.
He later appeared in Episode 5305, 5309, and 5418.
