"Alphabet Polka" is a Sesame Street song from season 18.

Yosh Shmenge (John Candy) and Slimey performed the song, a polka version of the alphabet. Yosh played clarinet and Slimey played his tuba.

The segment was pulled after its initial airings, as writer Norman Stiles recalled:

“The Workshop got complaints from Polish organizations complaining that we were making fun of their heritage, asking to have the segment pulled. Which ended up happening.”

Though the insert was retired from the show, the song was later performed by Mr. Snuffleupagus in Episode 2586 and then used in the 1989 Sesame Street Live show, Silly Dancing.
