In February 1985, the American Dental Association named Kermit the Frog as the spokesman of National Dental Health Month, a yearly promotion aimed at teaching young people the importance of dental care. Kermit appeared in dental health coloring books and educational materials.[1] In the campaign, "SLEUTH" was an acronym for Start Learning to End Unhealthy Tooth Habits, and Kermit appeared in a detective's outfit meant to evoke Sherlock Holmes.
