Anansi the Spider is an animated Sesame Street character based on the Anansi figure from African folklore.
First airing in Season 26, the segments were produced and directed by Fred Garbers with music composed by Alan Cagan.
Each segment begins with Maria (heard in voice-over) introducing Anansi who tells a traditional African folk story. "Now they say that all the stories in the world belong to Anansi, the spider. Maybe he'll share one with us."
Three animated shorts featured in repeats between seasons 26 and 38.
