Andreas von der Meden (1943-2017) was a German voice actor who dubbed Kermit the Frog (aka Kermit der Frosch) on Sesamstrasse, in The Great Muppet Caper, and in nearly all specials, movies, and other projects following the death of Horst Gentzen (Kermit on Die Muppet Show). He dubbed Tom in the first four seasons of Sesamstrasse, when the American street scenes were used, and later co-wrote adapted dialogue for sketches on the series (such as "The Adventures of Prairie Dawn" and "Colambo").[1]

Von der Meden's identification with Kermit is such that the 2004 German comedy Der Wixxer, a spoof of the German Edgar Wallace mystery films of the 50s and 60s, featured der Meden as the voice of "The Frog with the Mask," a Kermit take-off. One of his last portrayals of Kermit occurred in a 2005 BMW commercial, prepared specifically for the German market.

Von der Meden's extensive dub credits included supplying the voice of David Hasselhoff in most of his projects (including Knight Rider, Baywatch, and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie), Richard Pryor in Brewster's Millions, and LeVar Burton in the first dub of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was heard on radio as a child, including in the 1954 German production of Under Milkwood. For audio recordings, von der Meden played rival Skinny Norris and chauffeur Morton in the long-running Three Investigators series, Uncle Quentin in the Fearless Five series, Trap Jaw on Masters of the Universe cassettes, and various roles in the Sherlock Holmes stories. Cartoon roles include Clumsy on The Smurfs and Scarecrow and Scarface on Batman: The Animated Series.
