Angel marie concept

Conceptual art for Angel Marie

Angel Marie first appeared as a pirate in Muppet Treasure Island. He is a member of Captain Flint's old crew and appears to be generally dumb. In the musical number, "Cabin Fever," he dresses up like a Hawaiian dancer. His graceful name belies his grotesque appearance.

Like the person called before him, Big-Fat-Ugly-Bug-Face-Baby-Eating O'Brien, Angel's name does not match his appearance; in fact, one may wish to speculate that the two characters' names have been switched. The only difference is that unlike O'Brien, Angel Marie's voice actually goes with his appearance.

He later played one of the Flying Monkeys in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz (performed by John Kennedy).

Angel Marie appeared in a Haunted Holidays sketch.

Angel Marie appeared in the online music video for "Bohemian Rhapsody" (in a shot with Mo Frackle, Old Tom, and a Purple Frackle) performed again by Bill Barretta,[1] and later appeared as the Gulag chef in Muppets Most Wanted. His book appearances include Muppet Snow White and The Muppets Character Encyclopedia. His latest appearances were in the series The Muppets including The Muppets 2015 Presentation Pilot, where he was performed by Peter Linz and in both stage shows The Muppets Take the Bowl and The Muppets Take the O2, where he (along with several other monsters) chase Wayne and Wanda off-stage during their attempt to sing "Send in the Clowns."
