Jim Henson's Animal Jam was produced in 2002. The show is designed to be "interactive," and encourages viewers to get up and dance along with the characters. The show is hosted by Muppet characters Edi and Waffle. The puppets were designed by Ed Eyth. Premiering on February 24, 2003 on the TLC network, Animal Jam was the last TV series to be launched in the U.S. by the Jim Henson Company (although the company has produced and aired two made-for-TV Muppet movies since that time). Animal Jam began airing on the Discovery Kids network March 3, 2003. The 30 episodes of the show continue to air on Discovery Kids in the United States. The show also aired on ABC in Australia. Several episodes have been released on DVD.
