Annabelle Gurwitch (b. 1961) is an author, actor, and TV personality. In 1986, she appeared in Sesame Street Episode 2184. She played Teresa, Linda's assistant at the Library.
Gurwitch's earliest writing included a script for the Rankin/Bass cartoon Thundercats, while taking acting roles on Miami Vice, The Equalizer, Murphy Brown, and Alien Nation. In 1989, she was one of the two lead anchors on the revised Not Necessarily the News and continued to have guest parts on Seinfeld, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Ghostwriter, Tales from the Crypt, Medium, Boston Legal, and Dexter. Her primary TV role was co-hosting TBS's Dinner and a Movie block from 1996 to 2002. Films include Bright Lights, Big City and Life with Mikey (both with Michael J. Fox), Mouse Hunt (with Nathan Lane), The Shaggy Dog, and The Cable Guy (with Jim Carrey).
Gurwitch has written for The New Yorker and been a regular contributor to radio's All Things Considered. She authored several memoirs or essay collections, beginning with Fired!: Tales of the Canned, Canceled, Downsized and Dismissed.
