A boy stands at a wall and informs the viewer that he and his friends are going to teach the concept of forwards and backwards.
He calls "forward" off screen to a small mob (consisting of the Hippie, proto-Grover, Little Jerry, and other AMs) who rush and trample the boy. Recovering from his encounter, the boy emerges from behind the wall and admits it was a good demonstration of "forwards."
Moving on to "backwards," the mob now moves across the screen in the opposite direction, facing away from their destination as they again trample the boy.
This repeats several times, tricking the boy as to which direction they will be stampeding from, even when he spies them sneaking under the wall from one end of the screen to the other. Injured now to the point of going cross-eyed, the boy announces that he no longer wants to talk about the subject. The Hippie confirms his withdrawal from the lesson and expresses his disappointment with a sigh.
