Archimedes (287-212 BC) was an ancient Greek mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. He is best remembered for discovering the principles of density and buoyancy. According to accounts, he had an epiphany in the bathtub and ran out into the city streets unclothed shouting, "Eureka!" ("I have found it!").
In the 1996 Creature Shop TV movie Gulliver's Travels, Archimedes is among the historical figures conjured in the home of The Sorceror, along with Cleopatra, Plato, Alexander the Great, Hannibal, and Mark Antony, amongst others. Re-experiencing the joys of discovery, Archimedes gleefully shouts his famous phrase, this time partially clad in a towel.
