Armin Rodhe with Finchen
Armin Rohde (b. 1955) is a German actor who guest starred on Sesamstrasse in 2005, playing Dieter Donner (the manifestation of thunder) in Folge 2262.
Rohde has been active in German film since 1983 but reached prominence in the nineties, with director Sönke Wortmann casting him as driver Bierchen in Kleine Haie (1992), the same role for a cameo in Mr. Bluesman (with B.B. King), and a different character in Der bewegte Mann (1994, with Til Schweiger). He had a principal supporting role as bank guard Schuster in Run Lola Run (1998). Later movies include Taxi (with Peter Dinklage) and children's films Der Räuber Hotzenplotz, Herr Bello, and Die Drei !!!
English language films include Contagion (with Jude Law, as a World Health Organization official), Albert Schweitzer (as Albert Einstein), A Sound of Thunder (adapting a Ray Bradbury story), and Taking Sides. On TV, he starred on the intermittent crime series Nachtschicht as Haptkommissar Erichsen and appeared on Tatort, SOKO Köln, and Ein Fall für zwei.
