Baby Animals on the Farm is a 1986 Sesame Street storybook in which Grover takes a trip to the farm to meet all the new baby animals that have just been born. When he visits the mother cat and her kittens in the hayloft, he finds out that one of them is missing. So he sets out to find him. On his quest to find the black kitten with mittens (or 'kitty with mitties', as Grover likes to word it), he encounters various other animals and their babies, as well as meeting up with various friends in the process.

The missing kitten is plainly visible following Grover on every page.

Each page involving an animal makes it a point to teach what sounds they make.

Grover, Count von Count, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Herry Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Prairie Dawn, Cookie Monster, Betty Lou, Barkley, two Honkers, Rubber Duckie, and a Pumpkin farmer
