Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock
Balsam the Minstrel is one of The Minstrels who follow Cantus. Balsam is an insect-like creature who plays the drums. He first appeared in the Fraggle Rock episode "The Minstrels."
The character returned with the group (now called the Troubadours) in Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, performed by Ali J. Eisner.

- Balsam is the only Minstrel to have an inconsistent performer during the run of the show. His performers included Lee Armstrong, Jerry Nelson, and Karen Prell.
- Balsam shares their name with series songwriter/composer Philip Balsam.
