Banana Nose Maldonado is a green Whatnot Muppet who played the villain in the Bear on Patrol sketch in episode 505 of The Muppet Show.
He has a banana for a nose. When asked how he got such a ridiculous name, he replied, "My parents were Mr. and Mrs. Maldonado." Wanted in the state of Texas for unknown crimes, his mugshot appears on a poster offering a $10,000 reward.
The character's name is a reference to Robert Anton Wilson's 1975 Illuminatus! trilogy, which features a mobster character named Don Federico "Banana Nose" Maldonado.
An animated version of the character appeared in the "Kermit the Frog, Private Eye" segment in the Little Muppet Monsters episode "In the Beginning".
An illustrated version of the character made a brief cameo in issue #4 of Muppet Snow White.
