Barbara Plum was a recurring character on Canadian Sesame Street. She is based on Canadian journalist Barbara Frum (1937-1992), and was introduced in the 1989 season.[1] The segments remained in circulation after Frum's death, with three appearing on season 1 of Sesame Park in 1996.

In a 2019 interview with CBC newscast The National, Leeper commented that it was her favorite character, above her lead character, Katie.
