Barry O'Brien is a television writer who worked on several animated Muppet projects in the 1980s, working on episodes of Muppet Babies, Little Muppet Monsters (credited as a writing consultant for the animated portions), and the animated version of Fraggle Rock
O'Brien began his TV writing career with a mixture of laugh-track series (Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Love Boat) and children's shows (The Jetsons, Filmation's Ghostbusters, two Dagwood & Blondie specials, Alvin and the Chipmunks). He spent several seasons on Perfect Strangers (1987-1993), becoming a producer as well. Scripts for Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and Judging Amy followed, while in 2005 he joined the writing staff of CSI: Miami, later rising to executive producer. He also co-created and scripted episodes of Hannah Montana. In film, O'Brien was one of three writers responsible for Kangaroo Jack.
