
Barry Otto (b. 1941) is an Australian actor who played Dr. Tumii in the Farscape episode "Coup By Clam."
Otto's early career included a regular role on the 1975 soap opera Until Tomorrow and sketch parts in a Benny Hill special. He worked multiple times with director Baz Luhrmann, beginning with the latter's 1992 film debut Strictly Ballroom (as the protagonist's father) and including a major supporting role as Administrator Allsop in Australia (with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman) and a silent cameo as Benny McClenahan in The Great Gatsby.
He was a leading actor in 1980s Australian movies, supporting Carol Kane in Norman Loves Rose (1982) and starring roles in Bliss, The More Things Change... (with Lewis Fitz-Gerald), and Howling III (with Dame Edna Everage). In action movies, he played sidekick Shake in The Punisher (with Lani John Tupu) and Jackie Chan's fellow TV chef in Mr. Nice Guy. Other films include Oscar and Lucina (with Ralph Fiennes), Love's Brother (with John Bluthal), while episodic TV includes All Saints and Dance Academy. As a voice actor, he played Echidna in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and was heard in the Australian animated features $9.99 and Blinky Bill the Movie.
His daughter Miranda Otto played Éowyn in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
