Beary Barrington is the lead protagonist of the film The Country Bears, and a massive fan of the titular band.
A ten year old bear cub adopted by humans, Beary feels different from his host family due to his ursine heritage, a feeling aided by bullying from his adoptive brother Dexter, who reveals the truth about Beary's background.
Searching for a sense of belonging, he runs away from home and arrives at the band's former concert hall, where upon arrival, he learns from caretaker Big Al about the band's breakup and the hall's impending destruction by Reed Thimple, which prompts Beary to try and reunite the band in order to stage a benefit concert to raise enough money to save the hall from being destroyed.
Later, as thanks for his efforts in successfully reuniting the band, Beary is invited by Ted and Tennessee to perform onstage during the benefit concert as an official band member, fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing with the group.
