Being Green is a book adaptation of the song "Bein' Green." Although released as a Sesame Street book, the large hardcover book does not feature Kermit the Frog or other characters from the series. Rather, the song's lyrics are enacted by an undefined, dinosaur-like being.

The biographies section of the book note that its illustrations were later animated by Delessert for a segment on Sesame Street set to Frank Sinatra's rendition of "Bein' Green".
