Bernadette appears in the 2000 Sesame Street book Brought to You by the Letter B.
She competes against Bert on Guy Smiley's "Letter B Game Show." Bernadette is given a series of easy questions pertaining to the letter B, while Bert's questions are near-impossible for him to answer. As enthusiastic as Bernadette becomes with each increasing victory, she ultimately fumbles on the final question with all her points at stake; the question relies on her remembering her opponents name and she simply cannot recall it, while Bert manages to win purely by accident.
