Betty and Melissa Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches were among the guests on one of Sesame Street’s "Here Is Your Life" segments, celebrating the life of a loaf of bread. They were made from another loaf that was Loaf's friend in the bakery, but has now been made into sandwiches and French toast.
One of the puppets would later reappear in Sally Smith's lunchbox in the game show "This Is Your Lunch".
