Bewitched is a sitcom that aired on ABC from 1964 to 1972 about a witch named Samantha who marries a mortal man and their attempt to live a normal life in the suburbs. The series crossed over into an episode of The Flintstones, embraced animation again for a 1972 TV special, spun off into a short-lived series featuring Samantha's grown daughter Tabitha, and was remade as a theatrical feature in 2005.
References[]
- Statler and Waldorf watch the trailer and review the film in From the Balcony episode 1. Waldorf references the TV series when he asks, "Why make a movie version of Bewitched?" and explains that the film is an example of when life imitates "oh, I don't know... something horrible?" (referring to the premise, in which a real witch is coincidentally cast to play Samantha in a movie remake of the TV show). The film is brought up later in episode 29 as an example of a "MAD-aptation."
