Big Al is a character from the 2002 movie The Country Bears.
He served as the titular band's technician, and following their breakup, became groundskeeper of their former concert hall, where he is very protective of the grass on the lawn.
While Henry and Beary attempt to reunite the band for a benefit concert, Al stays behind to prevent the hall's destruction by delaying and stalling Reed Thimple. Despite his large size and old age, Al is shown to be surprisingly quick, managing to outrun and evade Thimple during their initial encounter.
When asked by police officers Hamm and Cheets for information regarding the runaway Beary's whereabouts, Al tells them about his current traveling with Henry, which they misinterpret as a kidnapping.
