Big Bird's Story Time is a 1987 Sesame Street direct-to-video special in the "My Sesame Street Home Video" series. Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus listen to some stories before their nap, with Maria reading from the fairy tale section of the newspaper. The news articles appear as modified Sesame Street News Flash sketches, removing the logo, Kermit's introductory comments, and other broadcast references.

FRAME 6 | Snuffy wants to hear a story about the three animals, unable to remember what ones. Big Bird guesses that he could mean kittens or billy goats gruff. Maria thinks it might be "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and tells the story, with Big Bird and Snuffy imagining themselves in the role of Goldilocks (via illustrated thought balloons). Eventually, Big Bird and Snuffy fall asleep before Maria finishes the story. She tries to leave quietly, but once she closes the door, Snuffy wakes up. He remembers that the animals he was thinking of were the Three Little Pigs. Maria checks the newspaper again, and finds a story about the pigs. |
