Bill Obrecht is a composer and saxophone player who composed and cowrote the lyrics for "Welcome to the Blue House," the theme song to Bear in the Big Blue House.
Obrecht played on albums for Laurie Anderson and his compositions appeared on the 1982 album State of the Union and 1992's Who Stole the Polka? He has worked on stage projects, radio concerts, and composed music for PBS projects including Theater Talk and New Television. He scored the William Wegman film Dog Baseball and played sax when Wegman was featured on an episode of Alive from Off Center.
