Billy Porter (b. 1969) is best known as an American Broadway performer best known for his Tony Award winning role of Lola in Kinky Boots (with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein) as well as his Emmy Award winning role in Pose.
He appeared on Sesame Street for the 51st season, performing the song "Friends with a Penguin."
Among his other credits are the Broadway musicals Grease, Smokey Joe's Cafe and Miss Saigon, the feature film The Broken Hearts Club (with Zach Braff) and the television series The Twilight Zone and American Horror Story.
