BirdsintheTrees

Harvey and Clyde trying to woo Doris.

Birds in the Trees is a sketch from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence in which several male birds (Mel, Harvey and Clyde) try to attract two females (Doris and Shirley) to the tune of a bass-centric jazz piece by The Electric Mayhem. Each bird has its own distinctive call using a singular phrase. The females finally settle for Duke.

The idea for the sketch, with puppeteers manipulating the birds being dressed in black, was originally conceived by Jim Henson as part of his Broadway Show proposal.
