Bobby Vinton (b. 1935) is a singer and songwriter whose popularity was at its height throughout the 1960s, including "Mr. Lonely" and his cover of "Blue Velvet." In the seventies, he starred in and hosted The Bobby Vinton Show.

Vinton appeared on The Jimmy Dean Show in the October 8, 1964 episode. Instead of the standard announcer's intro, Rowlf the Dog gathers the guest stars in the opening, addressing them by name, and offers Bobby tips on how to get along with Jimmy Dean.
