Bootsie and Brad are a pair of fashion dolls who appeared in recurring MuppeTelevision segments on The Jim Henson Hour. They are Barbie and Ken knock-offs who speak in exaggerated tones and recite dialogue written from an extremely sarcastic point of view.
The dolls are owned by a little girl named Amanda (Erica Lancaster), and they live in a dollhouse where they come alive while she plays with them. Amanda's dog Freddie is played by Foo-Foo in these segments.
Bootsie lives up an exotic lifestyle, with a large wardrobe and glamorous careers, while entertaining her clinging boyfriend, who worries about being forgotten. Like Barbie, Bootsie's exploits are not limited to modeling, and include becoming an astronaut, an oil sheik, and President of the United States.
