Brett Goldstein

Brett Goldstein (b. 1980) is an actor and writer best known for his role as Roy Kent on Ted Lasso.

In February 2022, Goldstein recorded material for Season 53 of Sesame Street, including a Word of the Day video released that April, and a segment for Episode 5311 featuring Elmo, Grover, and Oscar the Grouch. A short video of Goldstein, Big Bird, and Oscar was shared across the show's various social media accounts in February. The video is a nod to a scene from the first season of Ted Lasso where Goldstein's character Roy Kent takes an ice bath in a garbage can, to which Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) refers to him as a "brunette Oscar the Grouch."

Later that year, Goldstein hosted an "Around the Table" discussion video for Entertainment Weekly on the 30th anniversary of The Muppet Christmas Carol, interviewing Kermit the Frog, Robin, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo about the film.

Goldstein is a self-professed fan of the Muppets and performed a six-minute recreation of The Muppet Christmas Carol as part of his stand-up act in 2017.^[1]

Goldstein voiced Pryce in the second season of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock.

Goldstein has also had roles on Derek (with Ricky Gervais), Doctor Who, and Robot Chicken.
