Bridget Jones's Diary is a 1996 novel by Helen Fielding about a single woman in her 30s who writes a journal chronicling a year of her life living in London navigating a career, her self esteem, and romance. It spawned a sequel in 1999, a film series with RenΓ©e Zellweger, and a stage musical by Lily Allen.
