Brotherhood of the Wolf (original title Le pacte des loups) is a 2001 French film combining action and horror. Set in the 18th century, people are being slaughtered by the legendary Beast of Gevaudan. Two hunters (a French knight and a Native American) are summoned to end the threat, which turns out to be entwined with political intrigue and the history of the local noble family. In the end, the beast is revealed to be a lion trapped in a metallic spiked suit.
Jim Henson's Creature Shop supplied both animatronic and computer animated versions of the beast. A making of included on home video releases included footage of the Creature Shop crew and the design process.
