Bryan Pringle in "A Story Short"

Bryan Pringle (1935-2002) was a British character actor who played the cook in "A Story Short" from The StoryTeller.

Pringle often played rough working class types and Cockneys, but also performed in plays by Harold Pinter, Samuel Beckett, and William Shakespeare. A typical role was "Cheese and Egg," leader of the titular quartet on the sitcom The Dustbinmen (1969-1970), as well as appearances on Z Cars, Rumpole of the Bailey, Inspector Morse, Prime Suspect, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and All Creatures Great and Small.

Film credits included Brazil, The Early Bird (with Norman Wisdom), Jabberwocky, Mr. Quilp (with David Warner and Michael Hordern), How I Won the War (with John Lennon), and Three Men and a Little Lady.
