Buster Brown (born James Brown, 1913-2002) was a tap dancer whose career lasted over sixty years and included vaudeville and club work. He was one of the three veteran tap dancers who played the Dancin' Bunch in Big Bird's Western dream in Sesame Street Episode 3062. He appeared at the end as himself, a friend of Savion.
Brown performed with various dance teams and groups, including Speed Kings 2 (with whom he appeared in the 1943 film Something to Shout About). He danced in the 1957 Broadway revue Carribean Carnival, performed tap solos with Duke Ellington and His Orchestra in 1966, and was briefly a singer with the Ink Spots. When interest in tap returned in the 1980s, Brown was one of the featured hoofers in the film The Cotton Club (choreographed by second lead Gregory Hines) and in various tap documentaries. He was a replacement in the Broadway revue Black and Blue (1989-1991) and toured with Savion Glover in Foot Notes in 2000.
