CBS This Morning was a morning news program that aired from 1987 to 1989 on CBS, and was followed by This Morning, The Morning Show, The Early Show, and then again CBS This Morning from 2012 to 2021 (succeeded by CBS Mornings).

- November 15, 1988: Bob McGrath and Oscar the Grouch appear to promote Sesame Street's 20th anniversary.
- April 21, 1989: host Kathleen Sullivan interviewed Jim Henson from the Muppet Workshop, live via satellite. During the tour of the studio, both Kermit and Rowlf make appearances, with Rowlf using a little more adult humor with the term "S.O.B." Also seen in the background of the studio tour were Guy Smiley, Bugsy Them, Waldorf, Gonzo, the chickens and The Swedish Chef. The inner workings of Junior Gorg's head were also shown, along with a Hummingbird from The Song of the Cloud Forest.
- December 16, 1994: Kermit the Frog, Robin, Clifford (dressed as Santa Claus) and two of the Elvises appear to perform a medley of Christmas songs.
- 1994: Harry Smith played the tuba on "All Together Now" with the Muppets in a promotional appearance for the Kermit Unpigged album on the program.
- January 13, 2014: Mo Rocca made a visit to the Sesame Street set where he was given puppeteering lessons from Martin P. Robinson and Matt Vogel. Donning a green-suit, Rocca assisted in performing the right hand for Horatio the Elephant in a Season 45 scene. - September 12, 2014: Kermit the Frog appears in the recurring segment Note to Self, writing and reading a letter to his tadpole self, reflecting on his life, career, and on Jim Henson. Kermit's segment specially re-aired on the program on December 25. (transcript)
- Kermit's letter was included in a book compilation of other Note to Self segments in 2018. An audiobook version of the book was also released utilizing a new studio recording of Matt Vogel as Kermit reading the letter.
- December 10, 2019: Anthony Mason reports on Sesame Street receiving the Kennedy Center Honor. Pre-taped portions feature Mason interacting with Big Bird, Grover, and Abby Cadabby, and interviewing Sonia Manzano, Lloyd Morrisett, and Matt Vogel. (YouTube) Brief excerpts of Mason with Big Bird, and Vogel's interview, appeared the previous day in the show's memorial segment to Caroll Spinney, who died on December 8.
- April 14, 2020: Big Bird appears through video chat (set up by Alan) in promotion with the Caring for Each Other initiative and the special Elmo's Playdate. (YouTube)
