Caitlyn Jenner (b. 1949) is an American television personality, Olympic gold medalist, and transgender advocate who appeared with Big Bird in the 1978 television special NBC Salutes the 25th Anniversary of the Wonderful World of Disney.
In their segment, Jenner and Big Bird appear on a set made to resemble Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland. Big Bird laments over the fact that he can't fly despite his excitement at where they are. Jenner encourages him to try, but Big Bird is reluctant, "You can say that. You're Bruce Jenner. You won an Olympic gold medal." Jenner continues to encourage him, and says he just needs a little confidence, and some help from Peter Pan. After a clip from Disney's adaptation of the story of a boy who could fly, the special cuts back to Jenner, alone on set, showered in feathers, talking to Big Bird overhead, who announces, "Look, Bruce! I can fly!"
Jenner's other credits include the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians with her daughter Kendall Jenner and step-daughter Kim Kardashian, an episode of The Love Boat, six episodes of CHiPs, and an appearance as herself on the Amazon TV series Transparent (with Jeffrey Tambor).
